Listed at 6-foot, 245, Mevis doesn't look like an NFL kicker at first glance (or second glance, for that matter). He seems up to the task, however, having missed just one kick in 12 games last season (including playoffs) after taking over as the Rams' placekicker. Before that, Mevis was a four-year starter at Missouri from 2020 to 2023, making 84.0 percent of his field-goal attempts, before going undrafted and bouncing around from the Panthers to the Jets to the Rams. As pleased as the Rams were with his performance last year, Mevis largely had a diet of PATs and chip shots, attempting just one kick of 50-plus yards in the regular season and another in the playoffs (he made both). The Rams will probably remain better at providing PATs than three-point tries, but Mevis should still be a reliable fantasy option if the team lives up to expectations and continues making regular trips into scoring range.
