trade

A) give: 1.04(Worthy) & 1.09(Daniels/Brooks/Ladd) Or B) get: 1.07, 2.03, 2.05 & Fields 12 Tm; .5ppr; Single QB; dynasty In rebuild: QB: Russ and Bryce WR: London, Reed, Dotson, Nabers, Odunze Not concerning myself too much with position; I want high value potential targets that I can flip for positional needs later. I think the trade is more than fair, but it won’t take much for Worthy’s value to explode especially since more than half the league is Chiefs fans.

Pretty fair trade. If you take side A, I’d lean Ladd at 1.9 unless you’re looking to flip Brooks later. WRs are more valuable to you in a rebuild than RBs.

ChefBoyRPete 1 year ago

A for me. Fields isn't even a starter... and in a 1qb at that he's nearly worthless. I'd rather miss on fields and be wrong then give up a potential long term asset and hopes he wins the job. I would go BTJ at 1.04 and Ladd at 1.09

A

Nah

You move back 3 spots TWICE, and your reward? Fields plus the 2.05 in a single QB. Nah. Reward has to be much higher to move back twice

zakainsworth 1 year ago

I’d keep your side 1QB? If so, bowers at 4 would be my choice. And I’d consider Daniel’s at 9, but I’d probably try for a wr or 1 of the top rbs. Hopefully you could get JJ or Nix in the 2nd or 3rd round

zakainsworth 1 year ago

1QB? Assuming so if Daniel’s is available that late

crb2121 1 year ago

Agreed with Isaac. It wouldn't be worth it to move back with what you're getting

The ceiling on BTJ is much higher, and I consider both to be risky picks. If I am going to take an equal risk, I will go the one that pays off more if it hits generally. BTJ might not have ran a a developed route tree, but he also wasn't asked to. The scheme put him in the vertical, but if you watch him play, his athleticism, particularly his ability to sink his hips is a good indication that he can develop as a route runner. His career arc with probably be something similar to DK Metcalf. Also, if you are going to look for production, typically X receivers are the one to invest in vs slot receivers. To succceed as a target hog in the slot not only do you need to separate at an elite level, but you need size to work the middle of the field which worthy does not fit that bill. Also slot players are on the field less than X WRs so less opportunity. Pair this with BTJ great blocking ability vs worthy's poor blocking, BTJ will have more opportunity. Also probably higher in the target pecking order Worthy was actually found more on the outside than slot, and his biggest weakness by far is his inability to beat press coverage, win contested catches, and beat man coverage. Pair this with his suspect hands (high drop percentage) you can really see an outcome where his flames out pretty quick in the NFL. Also he was average at beating zone. Now I don't want to say worthy is a wasted pick or anything, if any team can scheme worthy to succeed, it's the chiefs... however I really question the pick considering his skill set overlaps with Hollywood brown significantly. Personally I feel that brown is the better version. Personally I put Ladd above them both. This is a hot take I know, but he is the better overall player in my opinion, and his opportunity is elite. BTJ has the higher ceiling, but I could rant for ages that would suggest Ladd will be a stud in the nfl

In a 1-qb, A. Fields almost shouldn’t be rostered, but can understand why he would be. The drop from 1.04 to 1.05 is significant. I’d be willing to trade the 1.09 for the 2.03/5. But as mentioned, Fields does nothing for me, so I’m not dropping out of top 4 just to grab an extra second.

The reason why I said BTJ before Ladd is because you already have a few studs so the risk is okay to take I would think

ChefBoyRPete 1 year ago

Hope that helps

ChefBoyRPete 1 year ago

That's just my take. People think differently

A440 1 year ago

I’d also prefer Ladd over both Worthy and BTJ, but admit between those three it’s a bit of a toss up for varying reasons.

A440 1 year ago

But I’d take Bowers over all 3

A440 1 year ago

But I could make an argument that it becomes important to at least have one of the now many top guys so that the position isn’t a weakness to overcome.

A440 1 year ago

Could further argue that stockpiling top end TEs wouldn’t, by itself, be an advantage to your team, but would be a weakness to most other opponents. Whether it’s worth investing that much in the position depends on the price, but if all other opponents have the same view as you’ve laid out (TE isn’t important because it’s not TEP), then I imagine the price tag is low. I just can’t see myself investing that many resources and 4-5 roster spots on the position in order to give me advantage.

To actually increase/decrease the value of a whole position, you have to impact how many you might start. This is the only reason TEP raises the value of TEs, only if it’s high enough premium that a TE2 in your flex becomes better than a WR/RB3, because it’s increased the demand for the position as a whole, while the supply of TEs remain the same.

Just out of curiosity, why is being an X receiver important in fantasy?

MaddHATTer 1 year ago

Absolutely not concerned about Davis, just that his presence along with Engrams ability to play the big boundary receiver role gives them the luxury to experiment with BTJ in those other roles, which will catapult his high value target potential. All to your point on his ceiling. I don’t see Worthy as a gimmick guy; only that he can get those touches as well. I do have the most concern with him being able to expand outside his prescribed slot role. You’re talking me closer to Ladd.

MaddHATTer 1 year ago

Ladd is not an X, it’s just that I think his profile doesn’t show much boundaries. Not that a staff necessarily would, but he can go anywhere including X. I was more speaking to his utility and ability to be focused on especially in a Harbaugh offense that isn’t going to be slinging the ball around and will lean on passing efficiency, that’s important to his FF production. You have to have greater route versatility to play that Z role. BTJ hasn’t shown that yet, when he does that lends itself to your ceiling argument. He will then be able to play that z or slot role in tandem with Kirk.
