<@MaddHATTer> <@ChefBoyRPete> thanks for the discussion. These are the reasons I come here almost exclusively. It not only helps me hone what I think the true and perceived values are of players, but helps me recognize my own blind spots that need more looking at.

Davis is not a Z; Kirk is primarily a slot.
BTJ will be boundary X in 2WR sets unless they put Engram to the boundary, which will push BTJ to field X, and BTJ will play Z in 3WR sets.
Damn it, now you have me wanting to take BTJ.

Could further argue that stockpiling top end TEs wouldn’t, by itself, be an advantage to your team, but would be a weakness to most other opponents. Whether it’s worth investing that much in the position depends on the price, but if all other opponents have the same view as you’ve laid out (TE isn’t important because it’s not TEP), then I imagine the price tag is low. I just can’t see myself investing that many resources and 4-5 roster spots on the position in order to give me advantage.1
