Jarrett Patterson - Better at guard but 1st/2nd year player that played heavily at center. Jake Andrews - 0 NFL snaps at center before 2025. If Evan Brown starts at center, which I believe he does. He has played 1700+ snaps at both LG/C playing 700+ snaps in 3 different schemes.

Something that concerned me about adding another WR this late into camp was how quickly could they pick up Houston’s offense and get on the same page as C.J. Stroud. Boutte is the exception where he should be able to pick it up faster than most. He is playing for Nick Caley who learned under Josh McDaniels in New England and while their offenses are different, some of the terminology will be similar. His new WR coach is also Ben McDaniels, Josh McDaniels brother.

Kayshon Boutte led all receivers in multiple important statistics via NextGenStats: EPA/Target: +0.74 CPOE: +20.0% Passer rating when target: 133.2 Yards per target: 12.0 He immediately becomes one of the best downfield threats C.J. Stroud has had over his career.

The Texans waived/injured LB Marte Mapu which is a bit of a surprise. Mapu was getting opportunities to win a backup LB role but never stood out and was outplayed by multiple others in that room.

Marlin Klein is able to run away from linebackers unlike any other TE on the Texans. If Stroud holds this ball for a bit longer, he likely has Klein on the crosser where he is able to run away from 55. Something to file away and remind people of the skillset that got him taken top 60.
