Why is this “Patriot Way” thing a genuine conversation when coaches/FO with John Carroll good? Nick Caley - Good first season as OC where he elevated an offense that struggled in 2024 Cole Popovich - Elevated a bad OL group that lost talent to being average in pass pro. Frank Ross - One of the best ST units every year since he’s been in Houston Nick Caserio - Built one of the best rosters in the NFL with cap/draft flexibility this offseason

My guess is Houston will add at least 3 new offensive starters and possibly up to as many as 4-5. QB - C.J. Stroud RB - WR - Nico Collins WR - Jayden Higgins WR - Jaylin Noel, Tank Dell TE - Dalton Schultz OL - Aireontae Ersery OL - Tytus Howard OL - OL - OL - Feels like C/RB are the targets for free agency while the rest of OL will be draft heavy.

The Texans are “expected to be aggressive” in the RB market and specifically linked to Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker via @thepatriotsbeat. Other teams expected to be involved in the RB market include the Chiefs & Giants.

David Montgomery is the perfect fit for Houston that allows them to improve the down to down offense in the right now while being able to draft a more explosive back creating a 3 headed backfield. He’ll turn a loss into 2 yards, 2 yards into 5, and 5 into 10.

The Texans had 582 dropbacks attempts from their 2 QBs over 17 games last season (@PFF). Looking at their current weapons I do wonder where you could really add to this group to take some of these targets. Nico Collins: 100-110 Dalton Schultz: 80-90 Jayden Higgins: 70-80 Jaylin Noel: 40-60 Woody Marks: 30-40 Xavier Hutchinson: 40-60 Then you add what you are going to get from Tank Dell (tbd) and obviously injuries that will happen i’m not sure there is a role for another big playmaker.

The Texans current roster (57 players) before free agency and cuts: I will continue to update this as we progress farther in the offseason to get a better idea of the outlook for HOU.
