Several problems. If FSU would’ve won, then the ACC is left with no more top teams. Sure Miami still would’ve been a top team but they wouldn’t have seem as much as a number one contender. The ACC gets money for hyping up all of the Miami season and it gets both of them money. Another problem is that the ACC is really cheap and can’t keep up with bigger conferences(SEC and Big Ten). They can’t afford as good refs, tv reviews, and channels(they literally stream games on the CW network). Miami gets on big tv which relieves the ACC. Third off, they want a decent team in the ACC championship and don’t want there to be a way Miami misses it again.
