The Chicago-based Hoffmann family, who owns the ECHL’s Florida Everblades, has emerged as a serious contender to purchase the Pittsburgh Penguins from Fenway Sports Group, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
The sale price is expected to be in the $1.75 billion range should it close.
