I think the Mason signing is more than just a backup. I watch a lot of Vikings football and the main thing that was lacking last year was a power running game. Then they went out and got the power back and beefed up the interior OLine. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Jones was relegated to third down/COP duties and mostly kept around as a locker room presence.

I think AR is worth it here. Jones will probably have a lesser year than last year due to competition. This may be an overpay, but I think it's worth the risk. If he pays off he could be worth a 1st +. If he doesn't, you're losing an older RB and 2nd rounder in 2 years1A440• 8 mo ago
Having Dimes on roster only helps, as both will get a chance to resurrect this year. I actually think Dimes is more likely to succeed than ARich, but I don’t think anyone can argue that if ARich somehow learns how to pass in one offseason, he’ll be highly coveted. Also think he’ll be given the benefit of the doubt if it’s close.1A440• 8 mo ago
I’d do it. May be a slight overpay, but I don’t think by nearly as much as is being said. I believe Jones is about cooked, at least as a fantasy RB. So I don’t think that’s any big loss at all. The 2nd being two years out is what seals it for me. In current value, that’s worth roughly a mid-high third in current value.1
