Just like Rashee Rice (was even one of Burdens comps when he came outta college last year) Burdens advanced stats were great from the start but didnt get the snaps until wk 12 as rookies..... then both had production go up a lot (& then Rice was WR2 in the league the next season up till Mahomes took Rices knee out on a freak play).
Now the Bears got rid of DJ Moore & Olamide (the main 2 players holding Burdens snaps back the first 2/3rds of the season last season)
Wks 1-11 (when his snaps were REALLY being held down.... was playing between 17-28% snaps their first 7 games then in the 40%s a couple games) Burden averaged just 2.6 Targets & 27 Yards a game
Wks 12-18 (when Burden finally started getting 50%+ snaps) Burden avgd 6 Targets/4.7 Receptions/& 67.2 YPG (for the season that would be 12th highest in YPG between Zay Flowers & AJ Brown). For a 17 game season thats 100+ targets/80 receptions/& 1,000+ yards (& thats still being on a little bit of a snap count for some of those games)
Wks 14-18 (when Burden finally played 60-70% snaps in a couple games) Burden averaged 6.5 Targets/5.3 Receptions/& 81 YPG (would be 6th best between Amon & Lamb lol). For a 17 game season thats 110 targets/90 receptions/& almost 1,400 yards 👀 (& now he wont be a rookie & will be playing for a coach that knows how to use him right).
He led them in receiving yards 3 of their last 4 games
Now he gets the combo of getting the perfect play caller for the type of WR he is in Ben Johnson (who LOVED using Amon , who is a similar type WR to Burden & playing the same WR spot, & has been singing Burdens praises like crazy) PLUS not having Moore (played 979 snaps) & Olamide (580) holding down his snaps. Burdens snaps will shoot up from 402 to at the LEAST 700-800+ and playing 70%+ snaps a game.

I love his doubters that treat him as some kind of flash in the pan. This guy's been on the top end of the national radar since his 2018 All American freshman year in HS. Scouting services had him as high as the overall recruit by his senior year. He was a projected top 5 top 10 pick in the NFL draft, then had 1 bad year in college for reasons largely out of his control. Luther has ALWAYS been that dude

I noticed that when it's positive articles, the chat loves it. When it's something that doesn't talk positive about their player, it AI. 😂🤦
