Boy oh boy, where do I even begin. Derrick… honey, my pookie bear. I have loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you. The way you bulldoze through defenders and strike fear into the eyes of anyone foolish enough to get in your way. Your silky smooth stiff-arm, that gorgeous burst of power when you hit the open field , I would do anything for you. I wish it were possible to freeze time so I would never have to watch you hang up the cleats. You had your struggles, but you never gave up hope. You are even amazing off the field , a leader, a role model, sometimes I even call you dad. I forever dread and weep, thinking of the day you’ll one day retire.
