Never listen to anyone that says don’t draft a TE early when it comes to McBride.
The difference between highest tier TEs (might just be him at this point in S-tier with Bowers and Kittle injured) has more fantasy value than taking a WR at the same pick, because if you miss on McBride you have to settle for a TE who will score 10 points less per game when you could cash in on that TE position tier disparity and “settle” for a WR one round later who will score 5 less points per game than the WRs you passed on to get McBride. Just simple math, take the 10 point disparity and settle to lose 5 at another position, that’s +5 overall that other teams can’t achieve. Look at how many times he was a top 5 TE last season. Even with guys like Chase and Puka, you’re still going to get down weeks. McBride might be the most consistent TE in terms of point production we’ve ever seen.
Plus with how week 1 looked for the WRs going around the same time as McBride (Egbuka, London, Wilson, Brown), you might not even hit on that WR and be even more behind.
The TE position isn’t sexy so people overlook the concept I described but it just comes down to being a good fantasy GM. I keep expecting him to have a bad game and he just doesn’t
