’Twas the night of TNF, presented by Prime,
And Amon-Ra St. Brown was prepared to shine.
The pads had been strapped, and the cleats had been laced,
While defenders just prayed they would not be disgraced.
The Lions were ready, the stadium bright,
And Sun God was gearing up for Thursday night.
He lined up outside, then he moved to the slot,
The defense knew his name — but stopping him? Not.
“Watch number fourteen!” the linebackers cried,
But Amon-Ra caught one and took it in stride.
A slant, then a seam, then a route down the side,
He left half the defense completely wide-eyed.
His hands were like glue, his footwork precise,
Every catch from the Sun God came at a price.
The secondary trembled, the safeties looked lost,
For covering St. Brown came with too great a cost.
Then suddenly there came a tremendous roar,
As Amon-Ra caught one and sprinted for more.
He juked to the left, then he cut to the right,
And the whole Lions faithful erupted that night.
So raise up your glasses and give him his due,
For there’s nobody quite like the Sun God in blue.
From Detroit to wherever the Lions may roam,
Amon-Ra St. Brown makes the end zone his home.
And I heard him exclaim as he ran out of sight:
“Happy TNF to all, and to all a good night!”
