Another reason to really like Rice this coming season is between Fields probably having to open the season for 1-4 weeks & when Mahomes does come back he most likely wont be doing a ton of that scrambling buying time type plays (it normally takes an athlete around 16-20 monthes to get truly right from an ACL tear)..... they most likely will be doing a lot of quicker passes looking for YAC .... which Rice thrives at.
They will be able to mix in some play action with Walker there but for the most part I think its gonna be a quick throw Patriots with Brady & Edelman type offense trying to keep Mahomes healthy
Combine that w/Kelce getting older (& Reid has talked about wanting to save him for the playoffs as much as possible & scale down his reg season usage) & Hollywood leaving (3rd most targets on the team at 74) ..... plus Rice will now be another year removed from his knee injury so its much closer back to normal..... plus he has an offseason to work on improving his game (like in '24 .... he worked hard on his footwork that offseason & came into that season & was WR2 in football when Mahomes accidently took his knee out) instead of rehabbing (already posting videos working out with Lamb last month) ..... everything points to him excelling 🤷🏼♂️
