Drew Brees played with 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung in 2020. Dude missed 4 games before returning to play and finish out the season. Rib injuries are tough to deal with but they can be played with depending on the toughness and grit of the individual. Most pro players today cannot deal with it and play through the pain. Some will go with the shot to play but I don't blame them if they decide not to go that route. I think Ladd is a pretty tough cat, think he gets in a practice and wears a flak jacket type protector for the game.
