Prater has played 254 regular-season games, but just four of those were in 2024, as he didn't play again after coming out of Week 4 with a knee injury. He's now a free agent with his 41st birthday coming up in August, after Chad Ryland enjoyed a strong season filling in as Arizona's kicker. Prater has a strong enough track record, and a strong enough leg, that he should find a chance to compete for a job if he decides to continue playing. He made eight of 11 attempts from 50-plus yards in 2023, at age 39, and his 81 career makes of 50-plus represent the all-time record.
