Seibert has kicked for five times since entering the NFL in 2019, only once playing double-digit games in a single season, but he made a strong impression in 2024 with the Commanders until a hip/groin injury derailed his season. Seibert attempted a league-high 27 field goals through Week 9, making 25 in eight games, while also converting all 22 PATs for the upstart Commanders. He played just one game from Week 10 on, and missed three kicks in that game, while Zane Gonzalez proved himself an effective replacement (and then re-signed with Washington this offseason). Seibert seemingly was good enough pre-injury to get another shot at a starting job, be it in Washington or elsewhere, but the type of volume he saw during the first half of last season was a once-in-a-career occurrence for an otherwise mediocre kicker.
