I was thinking the other day @sttbear makes sure it’s on Echeck only to avoid the fees is prime example of how the Rich stay Rich. We should all take notes from him

When you take cost of med school. Loan payback. Opportunity costs of not saving early and 80 hour work weeks there are much more profitable careers

My family’s business has been getting ridiculously hit with insurance and we are trying to find a different company

That cost of school ain’t not joke. Fuck around and start your life $500k in th hole

But insurance companies don’t exactly line up to take on roofing/chimney business

But we’ve been getting hit so hard to the point of, it’s ridiculous

4 years college. 4 years med school. 1 year internship. 3 years residency. 3 years fellowship. Internship residency and fellowship were 80 hour weeks making mid 40k

I was 34 before having a job that paid more than 40ishk

And loans out the ass. And 2 kids

Had to moonlight 5 to 6 times a month. Meaning after work drive to another hospital to work overnight and then drive to my “other job” as resident or fellow

Lot of sacrifice.

No time for savings until later in life as you are then paying hire taxes while paying back loans. I also started my own practice 6 years ago which I had to remortgage my home. Sell all my savings / stocks and take out huge loans and started over in huge debt again

Much much easier and less stressful ways to make money than that.

First job I worked every third night. Every third sat/sun (while still doing Monday to Friday those weeks) for 10 years

And every third holiday

I couldn’t roof. Hate the heat and don’t like heights
