“The #Cowboys have offered RB Ezekiel Elliott a contract which would make him the second highest-paid RB in the NFL behind Todd Gurley, per @WerderEdESPN.”
The players protect themselves and their families by playing football and earning lots of money.
@Tistri13 that’s not how nfl contracts work. That’s why players are allowed to sign extensions to their existing contracts if they outperform their initial contract
Only if the owners grant them an extension and it is mutually agreed upon. A player just doesn’t declare an extension.
Bo Knows
@Tistri13 well clearly Zeke is declaring a new contract. Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack declared a new contract. That is how it works. It has been that way for a long time
Oh, yeah? So Zeke “declares” a new contract, and then the owner must pay that new declaration of said new contract? Just like that? Wrong.
The raiders didn’t want to pay Mack. Hence the Bears negotiated a trade and immediately signed him a max deal
@Tistri13 The players holdout if they aren’t happy. Otherwise, players wouldn’t be getting these max deals as frequently
So then the Bears decided, didn’t they?! Yes. Yes they did. The Bears did that, not the player. The player refused to honor his current contract.
@Tistri13 The player made it happen. Mack asked for a trade if the Raiders couldn’t sign him
And as this process continues, the fans must pay more for everything. See how that works?
You need to educate yourself on how these things work. Players do demand trades to owners.
And the owner/team can let the guy sit and not get paid when it is a limited career length.
@Tistri13 This has nothing to do with the fans. The fans are just spectators. It has to do with the employer and employee
Did I say that players don’t demand trades? Nope. Never did. Changing what I said again to suit your attempt at a winning argument.
@Tistri13 Right and lose the player. It happened to the Steelers with the L bell drama. Bell held out for the entire season and got the money he wanted and earned
A player can demand all he wants. Nothing has to be granted as they are still u set contract unless the team approves!
@Tistri13 you just said the “ The Bears did that, not the player” these are your words not mine
I don’t need to put words in your mouth to win a debate. I’m too good for that . So stop it with that nonsense. 😄
The Bears approved the trade and new contract. Yes. What part of that is false?
Your not. Not at all.
@Tistri13 The Bears approved the trade, but Mack had a strong influence in that trade happening
You’re …
It your , “your” is possessive adjective
