“The #Cowboys have offered RB Ezekiel Elliott a contract which would make him the second highest-paid RB in the NFL behind Todd Gurley, per @WerderEdESPN.”
I should have gotten the proper insurance before I agreed to the job. Either that or resign from the job.
And for a fact, yes, I have.
@Tistri13 right exactly. So Zeke deserves the proper insurance policy in the form of guaranteed money. It’s that simple. Just like anyone would want
That’s not the agreement nor the rules of collective bargaining. The contracts aren’t guaranteed. Go complain to the NFL Players Union. Quit pretending that the players are the poor and downtrodden that had no idea that football can be a violent sport.
And you twisted my answer around to suit your desired result.
Cookies
The NFL is a cut throat business. Having good faith doesn’t feed your family. Owners use players and are quick to throw them out like an old box of cookies the moment they don’t see any value in them
@Tistri13 the signing bonus is guaranteed. That’s the main part of the contracts that matter. I’m not talking about the CBA and I’m not twisting your words around
@Tistri13 players know it’s a violent sport. Hence why they want that signing bonus. This has nothing to do with pretending to be poor. It has to do with protecting themselves and families.
If a player signs a contract, then that ass should be at work. Or resign. Same as my very first point and statement. Don’t like how the system works? Quit.
The players protect themselves and their families by playing football and earning lots of money.
@Tistri13 that’s not how nfl contracts work. That’s why players are allowed to sign extensions to their existing contracts if they outperform their initial contract
Only if the owners grant them an extension and it is mutually agreed upon. A player just doesn’t declare an extension.
Bo Knows
@Tistri13 well clearly Zeke is declaring a new contract. Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack declared a new contract. That is how it works. It has been that way for a long time
Oh, yeah? So Zeke “declares” a new contract, and then the owner must pay that new declaration of said new contract? Just like that? Wrong.
The raiders didn’t want to pay Mack. Hence the Bears negotiated a trade and immediately signed him a max deal
@Tistri13 The players holdout if they aren’t happy. Otherwise, players wouldn’t be getting these max deals as frequently
So then the Bears decided, didn’t they?! Yes. Yes they did. The Bears did that, not the player. The player refused to honor his current contract.
@Tistri13 The player made it happen. Mack asked for a trade if the Raiders couldn’t sign him
And as this process continues, the fans must pay more for everything. See how that works?
You need to educate yourself on how these things work. Players do demand trades to owners.
And the owner/team can let the guy sit and not get paid when it is a limited career length.
@Tistri13 This has nothing to do with the fans. The fans are just spectators. It has to do with the employer and employee
