“The #Cowboys have offered RB Ezekiel Elliott a contract which would make him the second highest-paid RB in the NFL behind Todd Gurley, per @WerderEdESPN.”
All’s fair when it comes to money, but bad for fans. Reflects badly on nfl and nflpa
Thoughts on ballage
@bobobobobobo I think that’s disingenuous to say the least. If you care at all about the sport you want studs to be paid. These are people and it’s about more then appeasing the fans in preseason
If I'm the cowboys I'd pay Zeke and cooper and trade dak to dolphins for josh rosen. You put rosen behind that line and Zeke running the ball. Not a cowboys fan,I really dislike them, but I think withing 2 years they be actual superbowl contender
He signed a contract. He should fulfill that contract. If he didn't like the terms of said contract no one forced him to sign. If I read a contract and did not like it I would not sign it. Contracts are binding for employers. Why should they not be binding for employees? Want to renegotiate the contract. Okay no problem. But isn't two years early a bit soon? Most players renegotiate like a year early. 2 years is just absurd. Play under your current contract for at least another year and show the team your risk is low. They want to see that they won't lose out big on thier investment. They want to see that you will stay out of trouble and keep producing for them. You have yet to stay out of trouble. This should be a "proove it" year for him. Not a "I want more money" year.

@TastyOrange I think Zeke wants a contract bc he knows he only has like 3 more yrs to be nasty before his body can't handle it anymore
Rbs play on a rookie contract for 4 in this case 5 years and then can be franchised with no security after the 6th yr. And that like 90% of their bankable years. So he wants a contract so he's not just let go after that for the guy who's gonna come out of college and attempt to do what he's doing 3 years from now
And he wants to cash in while he can. I can understand that. If he's carrying the ball that much he's gonna break down before 30
Per the Bengals, Trayveon Williams is OUT for the rest of the preseason. Why is his designation still QUESTIONABLE? Yo Sleeper, y’all hiring? Straight slippin’!

@Tistri13 Would you perform a dangerous job without the proper insurance?
This dude deserves to be highest paid, if his ass stayed out of trouble. Since he can't keep his shit together off the field, this seems like a very reasonable offer.
Woh, woh, woh. Hold on. If pro NFL players don’t have the proper insurance, whose fault is that?! Aren’t they union? Collective bargaining agreement? Don’t players have agents and lawyers that they hire looking out for their best interest? The answer is “YES!” To all of the above!
Sorry you think you outplayed the value of your contract! Finish your contract in good faith, and negotiate for a new and better one.
@Tistri13 I didn’t ask you about NFL players. I’m asking about you. Wouldn’t you expect insurance
I should have gotten the proper insurance before I agreed to the job. Either that or resign from the job.
And for a fact, yes, I have.
@Tistri13 right exactly. So Zeke deserves the proper insurance policy in the form of guaranteed money. It’s that simple. Just like anyone would want
That’s not the agreement nor the rules of collective bargaining. The contracts aren’t guaranteed. Go complain to the NFL Players Union. Quit pretending that the players are the poor and downtrodden that had no idea that football can be a violent sport.
And you twisted my answer around to suit your desired result.
