“Report: Kap wanted $20 million to play in AAF https://t.co/1LWfAqOIcz”
The argument that it's his right to protest is a good one. It also makes the argument of the right to not hire him, because of these freedoms you speak of, @Zamboni8
Not to mention the NFL hiding cte
NFL is savage for that money
They got us hook line a sinker because we are all so loyal to sport and our teams
@HubbCity I don't debate that. The question perhaps is whether it is legally sound to not hire someone for exercising their constitutional rights. I am not learned enough to know the right answer, but my understanding is that there is some serious debate surrounding the issue. We have the right to bear arms, but I expect to be fired for bringing a gun to work. That said, something would feel wrong about being fired for kneeling during the national anthem. I am not sure there is a clear answer here, which is probably why everyone gets so mad ;)
It hurts to say but I think Green Bay has it right. Each sports team should be owned by the fans not some guy who holds a city hostage every time he wants more money
According to Bleacher Report all players in the AAF combined make less than $30M lol

@NSwanson I am also a big fan of the publicly-owned model. But I also acknowledge Greenbay is a great franchise
Not sure it would always work for other teams
It does help that they were around when Jesus was here 😂

Totally agree about some places not working though. Mostly Jacksonville!!
He rather be a cry baby bitch, than light up this shit league and get a spotlight on returning. It's worth more to him to be black balled, so he can go around and cry everywhere that it's racist
You can legally not hire anyone for any reason other than race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital status, sexual preference, personal appearance, family responsibilities, and age
@Zamboni8
Detroit and Cleveland could be powerhouses if the fans owned the teams. They really couldn’t be more poorly run. Well .....
No one is preventing Kaepernick from protesting. He can stand on the side of the road and protest like the rest of us. No football team owes Kaepernick camera time to protest. What a load of shit the entire argument is
Publicly owned teams would be great but good luck taking away the multi billion dollar investments (we call them teams) of the current owners
Acknowledged. Though I think the situation is racially charged enough that a case could be made for discrimination.
I am not saying that he should be hired. I don't know enough about him as a player.
But there's no basis that he isn't being hired for HIS ra e
