Anthony Averett joins Houston Texans practice squad with fellow Alabama alumni

Anthony Averett, a former Alabama cornerback, has signed with the practice squad of the Houston Texans. Averett, who was drafted in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens, has played for multiple teams during his seven-year NFL career, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Alongside Averett, other former Alabama players such as John Metchie III, Will Anderson Jr., Christian Harris, and Henry To’oTo’o will contribute to the team. This move is part of the Texans' efforts to bolster their squad for a playoff push.
