Chat room 💬 What does Sam Darnold have to do in order to get a contract extension with Minnesota?

He is a bridge QB. He has 1 good season under his belt. A 2 year contract is a gift bc he’s been bad more often than not. If they give him a 2 year contract and he proves his worth again, he will latch on elsewhere that competes with ease

I could see him in NO with a young but talented somewhat offense in 2 years. Carr is a bad bridge QB

Want less money, because it’s not the QB, it’s the system that breeds success. Cousins, Dobbs, Mullens, Hall and now Darnold have all played within this system with some success. Cousins had the best year of his career and so has Darnold. We don’t need a high priced QB, KOC just needs a guy that wants to learn and is willing to listen and NOT turn the ball over. Look at how Cousins fell flat on his face because he chased “the bag,” this season and now he will be competing with Darnold and Geno Smith for a contract next season. We have McCarthy under contract and Daniel Jones will be his insurance policy, if he’s not ready to takeover next year. This was the plan this year with Darnold and it will be the plan next year again.
