Conference championship, but I doubt it. He's going to be one of the hottest FA QBs on the market with a super thin draft class. They're not going to extend him, too expensive.
Win the Super Bowl. Otherwise it makes more sense to run it with 1st round pick JJM who was playing just as well as Darnold in the preseason under a true QB competition. JJM costs a fraction of what Darnold would and the Vikings get a 3rd round comp pick letting Darnold walk
I think he has done everything in his power right now to earn a new deal. For how much money or length of time? No one knows. I don’t see us giving him more than 2 years though. Could end up like a Love/Rodgers situation, but they need to give McCarthy a chance sooner rather than later. And if Sam continues to play well if he does resign, then you forget about McCarthy. I don’t think any Vikings fans would be upset if we rolled with Darnold for a reasonable price. He’s been playing great and has us in a great position.

I honestly think our coaches right now are more integral to our success than Darnold however. That is what we will need to watch over the next few seasons.

His market value is probably more than the Vikings can afford so unfortunately he is going to go elsewhere. If he would do a team friendly deal then heck yeah let's run it back in 2025!
However if they believe in McCarthy. The right trade could make them Super Bowl contenders
