PLEASEEEE give me some advice: Long story short.. I have the 1.02. Offered the 1.05 and an early 2026 1st for the 1.02. PPR SF Do I stay and go Tet? Or go Warren at 1.05 (TE premium). I’m so strong at WR but have aging TE My team: JD Murray Penix Bijan J Cook J Jacobs Dmont CDL Puka AJB MHJ Dj Moore Ricky P Andrews Hock Likely
I don't think you can really go wrong here but I'd probably take the deal and slide back. I wouldn't move back and grab Warren at the 1.05, probably better use for that pick. But too early to tell for sure. I like picking up the extra 1st in 26, gives you more options to make moves mid season as necessary.
I would think outside the box here, go 1.02 and Hock for Bowers.
Take the trade, if you can add starters to your roster for next to nothing you do it. And at 5 you're still sitting in the top tier of this draft. BPA Don't reach on a TE though that's how you would mess this up. If you're dead set on him you trade back a couple of more spots and for another 1st or a couple of 2nds to like 1.07
@nickknights If you think he's got a top 5 pick next season you obviously have to take it
His best players are Caleb Ladd McLaren Kraft Evan’s BTJ He was the 1.02 this year (now my pick) He doesn’t have many picks for this draft so I can’t see his team moving much
Still…you can only make decisions in what you know and can reasonably predict from that. While I think his team probably looks a lot more middling than bottom 3 (especially with the 1.02 added in), I’d still probably make the deal. Especially if you’re in position to take the best fit at 5 rather than be forced to get a specific guy.
Hence Puka..
I’m going to take the offer and trade down to 1.05. Not going to take Warren, but probably the best RB/WR there I appreciate the help boys. The community never fails 🤌🏻
that said, if you think he's there at 1.05 I would take that trade in a heartbeat
I may make this trade bc I’m in talks with another team… I’d give 1.05 and Ricky P for the 1.03 and a 2026 mid 2nd So I can turn the 1.02 into: Hampton and a 2026 1.01-1.03 and a mid 2nd
everyone focus on your spreadsheets while I just take your players
In fact, I’d go so far as to say that the “experts” are the reason you can still have an advantage in FF. I actually quit for a handful of years when I was too busy. Loved the game, but the internet had slowly made it non-competitive (at least in my eyes, having lost too many to beginner’s luck). When I came back, I started seeing trends from a different angle, and it plays especially well in dynasty. Started tearing apart all the areas that I’d mostly glazed over in the past and coming up with correlations and why they mattered and how. Start seeing all the variables, where they overlap, what they mean, and how they shift constantly. Once a person can do that, it becomes super easy to take advantage of what other people think is law.
You like Ricky that much? I drafted him mid 3rd last year
He’s still in my taxi squad, so I guess it won’t hurt to hold and see the value mid year if I want to ship him off. Hampton may be there at 5, so holding may not be a bad idea you’re right
Ricky is a guy I’m trying to get included in deals because he’s a guy everyone is “meh” about, but to me, has all the possibilities to rise in value
Goes back to the “experts” ranking him so low I drafted him before the gun shot and shoulder but I agree w his value being the lowest it should be. I’ll hold him
My main question about Ricky has more to do with the overall offense than him specifically. But I ave no doubt he’ll get opportunity this year, and that means a lot in the eyes of the other players
I appreciate you guys 💪🏼
no problem.
@nickknights one last piece of advice I’d give is to not get to wrapped up in values around TEP. It definitely vastly increases the perceived value of the position (trade value), but has relatively little impact on the actual realized value. Ultimately, while it does increase their value a little (as if high enough, can make them a viable flex play), the only real impact is that it changes the ranking of them and prefers guys who get lots of targets vs guys who score a lot of touchdowns. It also slightly widens the gap between the top 6-8 of them and the rest. But since everyone starts them, and all TEs get the bonus, the value largely washes out. So, while they’re important to not neglect, there are far better places to pay a premium (weighed against the fact that they hold their value better due to the perception of strength).
I can agree to that, I think with Hock and Andrews … the value is high with them enough to run w them. Hock should get better with the longer recovery time, I think being a PSU fan, I just fell in love w the play from Warren. Especially after Laporta Bowers
People use their emotions to make to many decisions, especially in fantasy football.
