HELP, I’m in a 1 keeper redraft league, and last year I had both Jefferson and Amon Ra. Now that Kirk is gone, do we know for sure that Jefferson is going to have the same output he used to have? I’m almost thinking Amon Ra is the safer option with his consistency and QB play, but I know he doesn’t have the same ceiling level. Who do I keep?

I love London

Only a lower ceiling if we’re guaranteeing that JJ’s ceiling remains unchanged despite a rookie QB and AmonRa has no room to get better, both of which are bad assumptions

@starbeem care to elaborate?

If McCarthy is even remotely close to cousins, which should be within the realm of possibilities, give me Jefferson over ASB

Then it becomes a matter of how far to drop jefferson if you dont believe on mccarthy

It is prob closer than youd think, which I also agree with

ASB is great

Can you keep them after this year? If so, I'd consider JJ if not for the upside of McCarthy being decent then improving in year 2. I really don't think you can Can go wrong in either situation though, Amon-Ra is among the best WRs in the game.

Yeah it’s a great problem to have honestly lol

Kirk is generally among the league leaders when it comes to passing statistics year in and year out. Expecting JJ, who is a raw prospect with tons of question marks around his ability to function at the next level to be close to Kirk’s production as a rookie is straight up foolish imo

goron352 3 months ago

I think it's fair to note Kirk rarely supported a WR1 until he went to the Vikings, if I'm not mistaken. So it could be more a scheme fit rather than Kirk as a pure passer. I'm not saying he wasn't fantastic in Minnesota, just food for thought.

Which would place more favor on Darnold/McCarthy's ability to support an elite WR. Although history would say the chances of a rookie supporting a top 24 WR are incredibly low, as already pointed out.

goron352 3 months ago

Could also be very mistaken about the WR1 fact

goron352 3 months ago

Purdy wasn't a rookie in 23

FMattBryant 3 months ago

Basically, how much do you trust Mccarthy/darnold and how much do you believe in JJ

FMattBryant 3 months ago

His first full season

goron352 3 months ago

But the point of rookie QBs historically going into terrible situations I every valid. And head coaches have been more apt to let them sling it rather than game manage

FMattBryant 3 months ago

Has jefferson?

FMattBryant 3 months ago

Or the situation as a whole?

FMattBryant 3 months ago

JJMC hasnt had a chance to yet

jimmikmik 3 months ago

Jefferson is great that’s not a question. QB is a massive worry and hasn’t shown much in college

risk vs reward
