Hey guys, Dynasty commish here, I have some questions. In the off season do you lock rosters until the draft? In the off season I see rookies on the waiver wire if I unlock rosters are you able to pick the rookies up? I'd like for the owners to get some trades done as well get there taxi squad moved to the bench Thanks

If you have your supplemental/rookie draft setup then you can open waivers and rookies will remain locked.

but yes i usually have the waiver wire on during the off-season and put $100 of FAAB for each team so it’s kind of like Free agency and people can bid to get players…

Our SF dybasty league allows trades, but no waiver pickups till after the rookie draft. It works pretty welll IMO. There are guys avail on FA id like to add, but its fine waiting.

@JohnFuckingDenver it can also depend on the league. More intense leagues that I am in keep the waiver open all year, excluding rookies, and there are constant moves throughout the off season. However, I am also in leagues that close the waiver wire during the off season until either 1 week before the rookie draft, or just after the rookie draft. This is really nice for more casual leagues because it allows for people to get away from fantasy sports for a bit. Either way. I would open up with a waiver claim system over first come first serve. Have a few days to put bids in then anything is fair game once the flood gates open. Have fun

I only lock the rosters of unpaid members. Once they’ve paid for the new year they’re free to trade with other teams

And FAAB is the best waiver system imo

And locked rosters are different from opening up the waivers, it just means teams can’t make any roster changes including trading, add/drop players, etc. if the waivers aren’t open teams can’t add players anyway

Normally I do a weekly waiver in the offseason. No need to lock roster moves. The good dynasty managers are active year-round
