Orphan Leagues

How does this work? I'm new to trying to join in a league this way. Is there a single orphaned team I would take over managing? Do I get to see the team and draft picks etc before joining? How long has the league been active? Do you draft just rookies every year or some alternative? When do you hold the draft, before/after pre season games? Sorry for all the questions. But I'm very interested in taking over a dynasty team in a league that has a little momentum.
