Dynasty startup: We will draft to fill out entire roster tonight - will I need to cut some players for the rookie draft or can I draft them straight into taxi slots? Help!
can u enter ur predraft lobby yet?
im also anti taxi squad....just make the regular roster a little bigger, i dont see the point in taxi squads imo
That is a commissioner question I think
Just looked at my commissioner settings and you will draft your entire roster and be able to move your players in and out of your taxi squad up until your designated "lock" date.
The lock date is something you will choose and once it locks, you cannot add players to the taxi squad, you can only activate players to your roster from the taxi squad. You have 5 options for locking your taxi squad...you can choose to have the taxi squads lock after the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd week of preseason, at the start of the regular season, or no lock date at all.
@JxWake19 I used to have the same perception of the taxi squad, but have changed my mind recently. The purpose of the taxi squad is to hold rookies specifically to give them time to develop. Its not intended to allow you to stash additional veterans. Plus leagues can make it fun and have it add additional content and strategy to fantasy football by implementing a raiding system.
@getmadboy thanks man! Once we approach our rookie draft (after the NFL draft) will I need to add more bench slots? Or can I draft straight into taxi squads?
Sleeper allows you to have more players than your normal roster allows when it comes to either rookie drafts and/or trades. For example, if you have a full roster and you draft 3 rookies in a rookie draft, you will need to do a combination of moving 3 rookies into taxi squad spots or dropping 3 players before you can make any roster adjustments (ie. Changing your starting lineup or adding players from waivers)
When I comes to trades, you can trade for more players than your roster allows. So if your roster is full, you can move 1 player for two which will give you one more than your roster allows. Then the same thing applies where you have to drop down to your max roster size before making lineup changes or adding off of waivers
So to answer your question, no need to add roster spots. And no you cannot draft directly into your taxi squad spots
You will draft and then move your rookies to the taxi squad once the rookie draft is done
Ah dude
Super helpful thanks 👍🏽
U draft yet
Nope
@getmadboy great answer! @Saradas great question! Was wondering about this
