It was cold out. Confused and disoriented the rumble bubbles turned over deep in my bowels, and a cold sweat broke on my forehead. I was moments away from filling my underpants with hot mush, and darted through a park playground for a small public bathroom. It’s clear this outhouse like structure was built for children, as the stall walls were no more than 4 feet tall, but petty worries scurry when you feel like there is a strong and powerful river current pushing at the basement door. I sat on the low to the ground toilet, and the flood gates were open. Beautiful flowing seconds felt like minutes, and the only worry was that the toilet would fill to the brim, and even then that didn’t matter. I released all my inhibitions, and for just a small moment, felt compelled to no longer procrastinate - I could become my ideal self. As the last bit of sweat was drying on my brow, and the pressure subsided, I slowly look up. I had never even left the dinner table. Blank stares and open mouths birthed a singular thought to my mind: I will move far away, change my name, and start over.
