“Jaguars released RB Leonard Fournette.”
Armstead for Diggs? Depends on your needs. I'm not high on Diggs, so if I needed RB I wouldn't have done that. If I needed WR I would have. RA has higher "upside" -- he'll get first shot at being RB1, but they still could go committee on 1-2 downs. So what the hell...
I’m golden at RB. Diggs will be my WR4/5 but most likely a trade chip.
Cook,Mixon, RoJo, Taylor, Moss are my RBs.
Outstanding RBs. The trade...why not?
That’s what I’m thinking. Other WRs are Golladay,Mclaurin,Chark,Boyd
THough I would have been tempted to hold RA to see what happens there. Might have gotten someone far better than Diggs.
Because the trade at this point doesn't help or hurt you
Outstanding WRs too
I was tempted to hold but I’m looking for trade chips to go after a better TE. Got Gronk and Jonnu.
I can only dream that in 16 team auction
49ers, Chicago and ravens good spot for him
@AntonioBrownies I may be wrong, but basically once the player is waived from the team, they go on waivers for 24 hours. Teams can place a bid and pick up their existing contract and make them a member of their team without worrying of losing them to free agency to another team. If multiple teams place a bid, it goes to wavier priority like in fantasy football. I think it’s based on draft order prior to the season, and is based on current standing during season. So like if the Bengals and Chiefs place bids right now , the Bengals would get him because of their draft position/bad record going into the season. If no one claims the player on waivers, they will clear waviers and become a free agent and will be free to sign with any team on a new contract that both side agree on.
I think that's a good synopsis. Maybe Jags were doing him a favor? Don't know why. Still think there is something we don't low about Lenny
I mean he was on the last yr of his rookie contract, so If someone had offered anything within that 24 hours they would have gotten him dirt cheap.
OF course there could have been extention demands...and better contract demand$$$$$$
@tenz0r ah okay that makes sense. So if a team claims him off waivers they essentially take on the financial cost of his current contract and must have that cap space available per each year of his contract, and the Jags don’t have to continue paying him? I guess that’s where the confusion is for me when players leave a team and sign with someone else but are still being paid by the previous team they left.
@carlbs A lot of teams knew the Jags were desperate to move him, and there was no love loss between the two sides. There was that issue about voiding his contract guarantees from his suspension in 2018 also, and I think that’s where everything went downhill. I think that played a factor in teams not wanting to give up anything knowing the Jags could just waive him for them to just claim or sign afterwards
Yeah, but some team could have gotten his current cheap price within the waiver period; now he's free to ask for whatever
Why I'm smelling something fishy with lenny
Must have a shitty agent.
Or am I totally reading this wrong?
Just signs of desperate 4net owners and unfortunately im one of them “atleast in one league”
@carlbs Yeah we’ll see, he’s known to have character issues in the locker room, it’s possible teams may not want anything to do with him. The wavier doesn’t clear until tomorrow at 4pm, so a team could still pick him up. If he doesn’t get picked up, and no one signs him then yeah there may have been some behind the scenes stuff
@Punisherz I mean I hear you on that, but can you really blame the guy, I mean what weapons did they place around him to alleviate some of the pressure on him??? Minshew and chark??? Like forreal? How did they expect him to be the great running back he is if they never give him anything to draw opposing defenses from him, last year teams stack 8in the box and force them to do something other then run 85 times a game. I don’t blame him for not respecting the organization, they never gave the dude the chance to be great!
