“Jaguars released RB Leonard Fournette.”

Thompson

@PhillyLeotardo @mjseymo totally understood but Fournette had a great 2019 outside of the TD department. 76 catches and over 1000 rushing yards. He’s good. This cut makes no sense. Even if you couldn’t trade him in the off season which I know he was on the block you run him into the the ground and try again mid seaso or next year. This cutting makes zero sense. Their backups there are mediocre compared to Fournette. He’s got 3 years in the league... jusr a strange move. I bet something else happened.

Seattle has enough injury prone rbs on its roster.

They’re tanking. Their trade talks all summer is evident.

@sb25 I agree with you. Like I said before...to me, looks like they are throwing the season in the trash. Getting rid of some of their most talented players. Idk how the entire process works, but i heard the jags are fighting his final years payment bc of something off field i believe. They MAY have to drop him in order to legally fight paying that as part of a contract obligation, so either trading or releasing him may be the only options. Not too sure tbh.

@sb25 I agree, he's a decent rb when healthy.

Oh the howls of anguish from the CEH owners.

I guess I missed the boat ⛵️

With him being their starter and cut so suddenly, I am waiting for news as to what happened off field that caused this reaction.

Fournette to Tampa ?! That's 😯

sb25 5 years ago

@mjseymo gotcha that makes sense. I mean he prob wants to just get paid. And if I recall I think he sat out a game last year bc of some coaching issues with him but I could’ve made that up lol. Only jags I want this year are Minshew and Chark 🤘🏽

@sb25 yup! It is pretty well documented that he doesn't get along with the jags management that well, so there could just be some bad blood there even. Who knows. Regardless, kind of a D-head move to cut a cut 2 weeks before the season, though that could be tactical too.
