“So now, barring an unexpected trade, the #Chargers say Melvin Gordon can play for $5.605 million or not play at all https://t.co/ibxORCSDK5”
@ChrisPartlow if and when Gordon’s team come back and say, is that 10 million still there? It’ll happen
@wintheweek in your opinion you think Gordon will be back sooner rather than later?
@Papid1987 I honestly don’t know and could be wrong about all my opinions. I just think the Gordon team will explore the market, discover that the grass is not always greener, and figure out a way to play
Best guess is that process takes 2-3 weeks
So really, he's wasting his time holding out?
Its possible taking the 10m away as a ploy for him to come back see if it's still available. But it would have shown better faith keeping it on the table as an olive branch. I see rescinding it as the Chargers flexing their muscle. They are in a win win situation and they know it
The GM has never been adversarial. Nor has Gordon’s agent. It’s not a mean or nice thing. They’re just working through a business negotiation Gordon and Company can now test the waters to see if the GM’s offer was fair or not. I think they’ll conclude it was fair and comeback. Could be wrong in my part, but that’s what I think
It wasn't adversarial, I agree. Until today when they told him take it or leave it. I guess it's just a matter if opinion and interpretation. Time will tell
They both have until Wednesday we can wait
I think that was Telesco’s only way of saying, go see for yourself
No need to blow gasket over something you have no idea about 🤷🏻♂️
Bottom line. Melvin should have taken the 10m when he had the chance. Now he lost it and who knows if he can get it bak
@ChrisPartlow agreed buddy. Hope cooler heads and smart minds prevail
But I think we can both agree this hold out was ill advised and very foolish. You need leverage in things like this. And melvin had very little to begin with, and even less now
Gordon either don’t play or he gets traded.....
@ChrisPartlow completely agree. Should’ve been taken care of a long time ago. His contract status was a surprise to nobody and LevBell should’ve been a warning sign
@VBJ I’d welcome any resolution at this point
Melvin who?
Justin Jackson or LeSean McCoy
I feel like what happened to Le’Veon is the reason he will come back.
I mean 5.5 million is a lot to leave on the table especially if he decides to bet on himself and have a crazy season THAN. He has more leverage especially if the team is successful. Now obviously if he gets hurt he’s gonna be discounted, but you can get hurt walking down the street 😂 I’m not even kidding.
Lol
@dbarz I believe it. I got hurt just replying to u
I mean if I was confidant in my skill set, I think staying shows more character, even if hurt I’m sure that factor would be taken into consideration. Bell acted the way he did, after turning down a 15 mil and a 14.5 mil to sign a 13.3 deal average per year. That’s..... loosing 1.7mil per year plus the season he missed.
