This makes a fair amount of sense with changes to rules that encourage passing. The quickness of Beckham paired with that of Edelman will give Brady quick passes which will prevent him from getting hit. It will also mean that defense can't stack the box against an increasingly power run heavy offense. Also with Gronk maybe retiring, as well as other cap heavy playera being on axing block. The pats also have 6 picks in top 100 to use as bargaing chips.
